Blood, Dreams + Gold

This collection of photographs, taken in Myanmar in 2017, were exhibited in East London at the end of 2018. The series shows passengers on the colourful Yangon Circular railway that loops the city, taking commuters to work and people to market. The railway is about to undergo mass renovation thanks to Japanese investment and will shortly change beyond recognition. The photos capture Myanmar in a time of crisis and change. The photos play with the light falling on the locals’ faces as the slow, open train crawls around Yangon.
